Guide: How to Style Your Tunic

Women’s tunic tops are one of the most versatile clothing pieces one can own, particularly in warmer months.

These come in a several different lengths and fits and here is a quick guide on how to sport each one of them to flatter you the most.

Pear

Opt for tunics with side vents with a good neck opening to broaden your shoulders and a slight taper at the waist if your body is pear shaped to prevent it from clinging. And since your heaviest part is beneath the waist, make sure the tunic falls either below your widest area or above, but not right at it. Also opt for a chunky necklace to add more bulk to the top half in a flattering way.

Apple

Avoid clingy tunic if you are apple shaped and focus on your legs and neckline. Make sure your tunic has a fine V-Neck and is not too long as it helps in directing the attention towards your face. Even the darker colours and smaller patterns help the illusion that you are smaller on top. Remember you want the focus on your face. Opt for earrings and shorter necklace and say big no to chunky necklace.

Hourglass

A fitted tunic is ideal for an hourglass figure. Sleeveless pattern is also a great option for such body shape.

Full Figure

Say no to the shapeless tent if you have a full figure. It is all about the balance between clingy and loose tunic for this body shape. Make sure your wrists and collarbone are visible as these features always help in getting the slimming effect.

Vertical stripes, solid shape and smaller prints are the way to go as well. If you wish to cover your bottom, make sure you opt for a long enough tunic.

Rectangle Shape

With rectangle shape it quite difficult to find a flattering shape. However there are tunics out there for you, just look for the ones that cinches at the waist to create the illusion of a curve in the waist.

Petite

Those with petite shape must opt for a shorter tunic. Empire waists are not for such body shapes and hence you must just avoid them altogether when it comes to tunics. If you have love for long tunics go for the ones with belt look.

How to style them?

1. Opt for slender bottoms like skinny or straight jeans not baggy or flared with loose tunic. And a fitted tunic will look best with a boot cut pant.

2. If you are planning to style a tunic with shorts make sure the shorts are longer than the hem of it.

3. A belt on a tunic looks great, but then eschew necklace if you are opting for belt.

4. Opt for wedges if you pair your tunic with Bermuda shorts in

What To Wear In Italy In Summer 2019

Are you wondering about what you should be wearing this summer in Italy? What the weather will be like? Can I put on shorts? Need not to worry; we will be sharing some tips here about what to pack when you’re off to Italy and will also put down some styling tips to feel more stylish and comfortable while travelling to this place. Italy has cities, mountains and beaches, each with a little different gear for type of holiday and weather patterns. Moreover some locations in Italy require you to wear specific outfits, which you must take care of to avoid disappointment or embarrassment.

What to wear?

Italy is blessed with lovely Mediterranean weather and you can expect summers to be mighty hot, sunny and dry. Though there are great variations in the climate at different locations and it is worth being prepared accordingly.

If you’ll happen to visit the mountains you will experience the low temperatures in the cities or the South. If you are planning to visit this area, then you must prepare yourself for occasional rain showers and must pack for some layers along. Also if you are planning for hiking be ready with proper boots & suitable technical gear.

If you are planning to visit the Italian Islands then you must be ready to face the high temperatures & moderate winds. Take hats, maxi dresses, Italian jumpers and sun screen with you to protect yourself from the heat and feel most comfortable.

If you are counting on city sightseeing make sure you pack items to cover your shoulders and legs for visits to church. Most of the smaller churches do not require you to cover up though some of the bigger churches may take exception to tank tops and shorts ask you to leave.

5 essentials to pack while travelling to Italy in summer

        1. Good walking sandals/shoes

Sandals or shoes with good rubber soles are must haves as you will be doing a lot of walking in Italy. These will protect your feet & ankle from otherwise possibly unpleasant hard stepping.

2.  Sunglasses

Sunglasses are more than a fashion statement in Italy. You will need a pair of quality shades to protect your eyes as in summers sun is quite strong in Italy, no matter where you are, may it be the mountains, a city or the sea.

3. Comfy bag

In order to accommodate all your essentials while short excursions during your trip, carry a comfy bag, probably a cross body bag as besides being easy to carry, they are safe against pick pockets and you have several options to choose from.

      4. A shawl

As some churches require you to follow their dress code to let you in, just like in Vatican, carry a shawl in your bag to avoid showing off while dressed for the heat in Italian dresses.

5.  A hat

Sun is usually intense in Italy during summers and for this you will definitely need a good hat for going out for sightseeing and avoid any sunstroke.

Dressing Tips to Follow While Travelling to Italy

Are you wondering about what to wear when travelling to Italy? Well there is no brief reply to this question. The fact is Italy doesn’t have any formal dress code; however we can certainly give you some dressing tips so that you don’t look out of place when you are in this country.

Dressing like Italians is not just a point of respecting their dress code, though a more of security question, as in huge cities not to look too evidently like a tourist may be more secure.

Italians are very fashionable and more importantly they are highly respectful of customs and traditions which is quite evident in the way they dress. The first thing you must know is that Italians adapt the dressing way based on the occasion, place and site they visit. For example, no off-shoulder clothing or tank tops for women while visiting cathedral or church and no shorts in the evening for men.

Similarly when visiting the Vatican no miniskirts or shorts and covered shoulders are recommended. Italians interpret an effort to dress nicely as a mark of respect.

A few of the clothes combinations might also look funny to Italians, like putting on white socks with sandals or wearing them under trousers. On the contrary they always complement some clothing such as closed shoes with socks (except yachting or moccasin style shoes).

Here are some rules (do’s and don’ts) of Italian clothing while visiting this beautiful European country.

Rule No. 1 >> Do not opt for a tie if you are planning to wear jeans or an imperfectly ironed shirt. It is probably worse than wearing no tie with a classy suit.

Rule No. 2 >> Generally women in Italy wear natural looking make up and have their eyebrows, nails and hair done though they rarely opt for perfume.

Rule No.3 >> You can wear jeans even in formal situations provided that they are paired with stylish accessories and elegant jacket. Make sure they are well fitting & stylish. Though never ever wear a tie with jeans.

Rule No.4 >> Men always wear socks with closed shoes except with yachting or moccasin style shoes. Although Italians usually wear specifically adopted socks to such shoes knows as fantasmini.

Rule No.5 >> Designer labels are always considered and recognized as a sign of elegance except it is overdone.

Rule No. 6 >> Shirts without collar buttons Brest pockets are considered more elegant.

Rule No. 7 >> Avoid sport shoes or sweat shirts in the city except you’re doing sports.

Rule No. 8 >> Avoid off-shoulder clothing and tank tops when paying visit to churches or sacred places.

Rule No. 9 >> Avoid baggy trousers or oversized shirts as Italians always wear properly sized outfits.

Rule No. 10 >> Except for vacationing or for beach outings, no extra short shorts for men.

Rule No. 11 >> No socks with open shoes and sandals.

Rule No. 12 >> Avoid thongs and in the bigger cities.

Rule No. 13 >> Men should avoid open shoes in the evening and short-sleeved shirts at formal events.

Rule No. 14 >> Say big no to white socks with trousers.

Bottega Veneta and Gucci were missing from the show, but the big names at Milan Fashion Week still had a lot to showcase for spring 2019. Standout moments included Fendi's luxe athleisure, raver fantasy meets retro schoolgirl collection, 65th birthday of Missoni and some grand supermodel from 90’s comebacks, including Helen Christensen & Eva Herzigova at Dolce & Gabbana and Shalom Harlow at Versace.

EMBELLISHMENTS

The lure of shiny appliqués, details & intricate embroidery was not lost on designers this year around at Milan fashion week and there was a design to suit every taste. Key mongers of the trend include Prada, Versace, Philipp Plein and Roberto Cavalli.

MIXED PRINTS

Besides embellishments, miscellaneous prints were just everywhere and latest Moschino collection of Jeremy Scott had it all. Think lavish headgear and painterly strokes of reminiscent of 80s couture and brash stripes. Additionally, Versace with some fun results went all-in-on power clashing-however not for the heart faint.

FISHNET

From fisherman’s netting to fishnet of all kinds have emerged as a major trend for 2019 spring. In Milan fashion week Paul Andrew, the creative director portrayed slouchy net dresses with Etro gave hats the net treatment and extra long tassels down the Salvatore Ferragamo runway.

FANTASTIC PLASTIC

Slick dresses and coats glide into a few heavy collections, too. Cinched-in version of the style in khaki by Max Mara will need a polishing fabric and a substantial amount of confidence carry it off.  Fendi covered its plastic transparent coats in the signature F logo print that millennials have been going gaga over.

INTO THE WILD

Have animal prints become the new black? Designers at Milan thought so. Pull off Roberto Cavalli from head to toe or team up a dress by Simonetta Ravizza with fresh white sneakers for a more street friendly take for spring 2019.
